There is no school Friday, April 6th and Monday, April 9th due to Easter Break.
AIMS Testing starts Monday, April 16th . Students need to be on time and at school all week. Of course, if they are sick (fever, vomiting) they should stay home. If this is the case they will have the opportunity to make up that day’s testing another day.
To help your child be successful with the week-long testing here are some tips: - Get a good night’s rest each night
- Eat healthy foods in the morning to avoid a “sugar crash”
- Research has shown that when kids chew gum while working on stressful tasks they perform better. Gum chewing will be allowed during testing times only. I will not provide any gum or allow children to share for food allergy safety. Please provide your own.

Spelling Homework
Tuesday: ABC order
Wednesday: Put each word in a sentence (at least 10)
Thursday: Write a story with at least 5 words included in it. Put a box around each spelling word.
The homework for each homeroom class will be the same. For example, all the children in my room will be following the spelling homework that we’ve been doing since the beginning of the year (listed above) with their respective spelling words from their Literacy Teacher. So, everyone will be doing the same work just with different words.
Homework
Reading logs for March are due on April 2. Please make sure there are at least 20 entries.
The weekly homework assignment will continue to go home on Wednesdays through the end of the year. Each student needs to read one article from the magazines that are sent home and complete the comprehension sheet. The magazines are theirs to keep; the worksheet is the only piece that needs to be turned in.
Reading:
Your child should be reading 20 minutes a night, please write it on your reading log nightly.
Math:
The students will bring home 2 math worksheets for each night (rarely one).
